About

Katie Ruth Jackson is a contemporary figurative artist and fourth-generation painter whose work explores human emotion, connection and expression through watercolour and mixed media. Known for striking, bold figures set against minimal white backdrops, she achieves a rare balance of precision and fluidity—capturing movement, vulnerability and spiritual depth with exceptional anatomical sensitivity.

Her practice centres on the raw honesty of the human form, creating pieces that feel both intimate and powerful. Limited edition prints are available to collect online, while original paintings are offered exclusively through private enquiry and selected exhibitions.

“My work is shaped as much by memory and atmosphere as it is by form. I draw from moments, memories, places, and emotional undercurrents, allowing mood to lead the process rather than outcome. There is rarely a fixed destination; each piece evolves through exploration, with many iterations existing only as part of that journey. Working primarily with watercolour and oil pastel, I occasionally introduce ink, gouache, and acrylic—layering materials in a way that mirrors the shifting nature of thought and feeling. The figures I paint are not portraits in the traditional sense, but symbolic forms—echoes of people known, imagined, or felt. They exist somewhere between memory and emotion, offering a space for interpretation rather than definition.”
